Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight follows a silent protagonist known as the Knight who arrives in Dirtmouth and ventures into the ruins of Hallownest, an ancient insect kingdom that collapsed after being overrun by the Infection—a supernatural plague created by the Radiance that controls the minds and dreams of bugs. The Knight discovers they are a Vessel, a creature made of Void and created by the Pale King to contain the Infection within their hollow bodies. To stop the plague, the Knight must defeat three Dreamers—Monomon the Teacher, Lurien the Watcher, and Herrah the Beast—who act as living seals protecting the Temple of the Black Egg where the infected Hollow Knight is imprisoned. The journey reveals that the previous Vessel chosen by the Pale King failed to contain the Radiance, and the Knight must decide whether to replace them or destroy the source of the Infection forever.
