Total War: WARHAMMER III begins with a prologue campaign following Prince Yuri Barkov of Kislev, who searches for the missing Bear-God Ursun after seven years of endless winter, only to be corrupted by Chaos and tricked by Be’lakor into mortally wounding the god. In the main Realm of Chaos campaign, Ursun’s pained roars tear rifts between reality and the Chaos Realms, and multiple factions—including Kislev, Cathay, the Daemon factions, and the Ogre Kingdoms—are manipulated by the cursed Advisor to enter the Realm of Chaos to reach the imprisoned god. Players must invade the domains of all four Chaos Gods (Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh), capture the souls of their Daemon Princes, and use those souls to reach the Forge of Souls where Be’lakor plans to absorb Ursun’s power and ascend as the Chaos God of Shadows. The campaign culminates in a final battle against Be’lakor’s army, with Katarin Bokha’s rescue of Ursun being the canonical ending.
