Elden Ring is an open-world action RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Created in collaboration with author George R.R. Martin, the game was released in February 2022 and quickly became one of the best-reviewed games of all time. Before downloading, it is important to verify the Elden Ring system requirements to ensure your PC can handle this demanding and visually impressive title.
Elden Ring System Requirements
The minimum Elden Ring system requirements call for an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X CPU, 12GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB or AMD RX 580 4GB GPU, and 60GB of SSD storage. At minimum spec, the game targets 1080p at 30 FPS with medium settings. An SSD is required rather than an HDD to meet even the minimum storage specification.
For the recommended Elden Ring system requirements, FromSoftware recommends an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X CPU, 16GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB or AMD RX Vega 56 8GB GPU, and 60GB of SSD storage. These specifications allow you to run Elden Ring at 1080p with high settings and maintain 60 FPS during most gameplay scenarios, though some boss arenas and dense environments may cause dips.
Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a vast open world filled with diverse biomes, underground caverns, and legacy dungeons. Players customize their Tarnished character and explore freely, engaging in challenging combat against powerful enemies and bosses. The game features both inline progression and a network of grace sites that serve as respawn points and fast travel locations.
Elden Ring on PC has received extensive modding support from the community, with mods available that fix frame pacing issues, add new visual effects, and even change enemy behaviors. Running modded Elden Ring may increase GPU and RAM demands beyond the recommended specifications. Our Elden Ring FPS calculator accounts for hardware differences across all supported GPUs and CPUs to provide an accurate performance estimate.
The game includes online multiplayer features that allow cooperative and competitive play. Summoning other players for boss fights requires an internet connection and will slightly increase CPU usage. The Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion added a substantial new area and may require additional resources, particularly for GPU-intensive areas with new visual effects.
Use our system requirements checker above to find out if your PC can run Elden Ring and what performance you can expect. Whether you are targeting 30 FPS at minimum settings or 60 FPS at ultra, our tool will give you a precise, hardware-specific Elden Ring performance estimate.
