Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition is a complete remaster of BioWare’s legendary 1998 RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe, following the journey of Gorion’s Ward, a young protagonist raised in the fortress-library of Candlekeep. Before the Time of Troubles, the god of murder Bhaal foresaw his own death and spawned countless children across Faerûn to serve as vessels for his resurrection—and you are one of them, though you don’t know it yet. When your foster father Gorion is mysteriously murdered while trying to escort you away from Candlekeep, you find yourself thrust into a complex conspiracy involving an iron shortage that threatens to ignite war between the city of Baldur’s Gate and the neighboring nation of Amn. Your investigation leads you to bandit camps along the Sword Coast, the mercenary organization known as the Iron Throne, enslaved iron mines in the Cloakwood, and eventually into Baldur’s Gate itself where political intrigue and assassination plots unfold. The mastermind behind it all is revealed to be Sarevok, another child of Bhaal who murdered both Gorion and his own foster father, orchestrating the iron crisis to spark a massive war whose bloodshed would allow him to ascend as the new Lord of Murder. The Enhanced Edition includes the complete original campaign plus the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion featuring Durlag’s Tower, three new recruitable companions (Neera the Wild Mage, Dorn Il-Khan the Blackguard, and Rasaad yn Bashir the Monk), The Black Pits arena mode where you battle as Baeloth the Entertainer’s prisoners, improved graphics and interface, cross-platform multiplayer, new difficulty modes including Story Mode and Legacy of Bhaal, and over 75 hours of content.
