Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG developed by Capcom that takes players to Kamura Village, a peaceful mountain settlement threatened by the return of the Rampage—a mysterious calamity that occurred 50 years ago where massive hordes of monsters attacked in a frenzied rage. As a newly promoted hunter, you’re tasked by village elder Fugen to prepare for this looming threat by completing quests, hunting monsters, and gathering supplies to defend the village. The game follows the series’ signature core loop: slay or capture large monsters using a variety of weapons and environmental features, then use their parts to craft increasingly powerful armor and weapons. Rise introduces new mechanics including the Wirebug for enhanced mobility, rideable Palamute Canyne companions alongside the traditional Palico Felynes, and special Rampage missions where you defend the village in tower-defense-style battles. The story draws inspiration from ancient Japanese folklore and involves uncovering the mystery behind the Rampage, which is ultimately caused by a pair of Elder Dragons: Wind Serpent Ibushi and Thunder Serpent Narwa. With 14 unique weapon types, smart difficulty scaling for solo or four-player co-op, and extensive post-game content including the Sunbreak expansion featuring the kingdom of Elgado and the Three Lords, Monster Hunter Rise offers endless hunting adventures.
